The theme for Eco-Runner Team Delft 2024/2025 is:

Drive the Future of Mobility.

This year, we are building a car running on an externally fired gas turbine, allowing the testing of alternative sustainable fuels. This is how we want to keep inspiring innovation towards a sustainable future.

Each year we organise various events, showcasing what we have achieved, and spreading our vision of global sustainable mobility.

CAR REVEAL ECO-RUNNER XIV

The Car Reveal of the Eco XIV took place on May 8th 2024 in the Grote Kerk in The Hague. On this evening, we finally unveiled the Eco-Runner XIV to the world! You can see the video on the left. It was a great moment to showcase what we’ve been working on since September. During the presentation, we discussed our team’s experiences up to now and what the production phase was like. We also looked ahead to the world record attempt in Friesland next month. See the tab ‘World Record Attempt’ for more information on that.

Following the presentation, there was an exhibition inspired by the Elfstedentocht, consisting of 11 sections that took you on a journey through the history of Eco-Runner, our team, hydrogen, and the future of mobility.

We look back at an amazing evening. A big thank you goes out to everyone that was present, and for all the positive reactions afterwards!

DESIGN PRESENTATION ECO-RUNNER XIV

Eco-Runner Team Delft 2023/20234 presented the design of the Eco XIV on February 28th in the Aula of the TU Delft. On the left, the design video is shown of the Eco-Runner XIV. This will be the most efficient hydrogen-powered vehicle in the world that is allowed to drive on the public roads.

During the Design Presentation, we announced our plans for this year, with our main goal: setting the world record for driving the longest distance ever on hydrogen without refueling. But this time, we aim to do it on the public roads with a vehicle that is street-legal.

We showed all the technical aspects of the design and the potential of hydrogen for a more sustainable and efficient transport sector. Curious? On the right, the live video of the presentation is shown.

CAR REVEAL ECO-RUNNER XIII

The Car Reveal of the Eco XIII took place on May 2nd 2023 at the Aula of the Technical University Delft. You can see the live video of the Car Reveal in this video. At the event, we also had an inspiring panel discussion on the use of hydrogen in our society. The panel included Coby van der Linde, Stephanie Kool-Claessens, Thijs ten Brinck, and Diederik Samsom. Our conclusion? We need to collaborate: production, industry, and regulation, and we need to do it now.

The production phase and the technical aspects of the car were explained as well, and very importantly, the location where we will drive the World Record Attempt.
