In the last month the Vehicle Dynamics Department did all the finishing touches for the designs so they are ready for the production period. Currently we are discussing the production plan and looking into the facilities we intend to use, however in this difficult time it will be a great challenge that we will have to overcome.
The Strategy Department is fortunately less affected by the current situation and has successfully made the sensor system. In addition, a lot of progress has been made with the electronics for the steering wheel.
The Powertrain Department successfully tested the newly designed supercapacitor banks last month, restarted the ECO X to practise driving on hydrogen and made further progress with the FC Link.
In December, the Body Department started the production phase! The wooden plug is completed, thanks to De Klerk Interieurbouw and De IJssel Coatings and we will finish the mould before the Christmas break at Holland Composites.
In addition to our hard-working technical departments, the operations department has also been very busy with new partnerships, events and other interesting content to share! An exciting project coming up is an Eco-Runner explainer video animated by DOB-Academy, which will be launched in January. Stay tuned!
Last month we hosted our first big event for partners and students, the Meet our Partners event. In addition, we had a lot of (online) team activities and coming up is one of the biggest events of the year!
Meet our Partners Event
On December 9 we hosted our online ”Meet our Partners event”, with over 100 participants we can say it was a big success. The event was divided in three sectors; Energy & Offshore, Mobility and Technology & Construction. After a short presentation of the different partners of each sector, the students had the opportunity to ask questions which had been done with much enthusiasm! During the closing drink there was lively discussion guided by our poll questions regarding hydrogen, mobility and the energy transition in general. In addition, students could connect and ask questions in break-out rooms with partners.
If you have any questions about the event or suggestions for following events, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
During these difficult times we stay in touch with the team through many online team building activities, such as online sports sessions or our weekly Friday afternoon drinks where games and quizzes are played. In addition, we also occasionally eat together in smaller groups and last week we all celebrated Sinterklaas, a Dutch tradition, with poems and gifts! In addition, we closed this year well with a concluding outdoor team building activity: a scavenger hunt through Delft!
On February 18 Eco-Runner Team Delft will reveal the design of our hydrogen powered city car; the Eco-Runner XI. You are very welcome to join us on this special evening, so save the date!
We are very happy to announce our new partnership with Conrad, Dekker Groep and Hydro. Also we thank Omnimark for continuing our great collaboration.
This month the third episode of ‘De Waterstofpodcast’ was released. In this episode our host, Sieb Rodenburg, speaks with Maarten Staats, a consultant who dedicated 1.5 years on a roadmap for making the european steel industry more sustainable. And this is very important, since the steel industry contributes to about 8% of total global emissions. Hydrogen has great potential for making this industry more sustainable, but how? That will be explained in the third episode of ‘De Waterstofpodcast’!
